Godonir has that bad chad energy. Perhaps in some other story Aeronwen had no choice but to marry him, or something. Or he was a better person in those story lines.
Whatever the case, in those other stories Neldor probably didn't end up being thrown into prison and afterward sent to Vvardenfell. Which means he wasn't there for Aeronwen to meet him and learn what a good mer is really like. That would make a huge difference regarding how a story could play out.
