Local Harpy, Yanna Swift Leaf, was seen picking apart what she considered to be a horrible ensemble of clothing that Odros Dagoth was sporting. Odros was quite distressed after the experience and was left sobbing on the street corner as Yanna walked away.

Editor's Note: We received a message from Odros regarding this incident. Odros insists that he was not sobbing and merely replied in response to Yanna's rude comments, "There's nothing wrong with my clothes! Serjo Curio himself helped me pick them out!"

This Yanna really sounds like an awful person.

"I am a god amongst you weaklings. How could I have failed so?" groaned Sophelia La Chance, clutching her head in pain. Witness reports describe that the vampire who was attempting to lay the smack-down on Gilvoth Dagoth found herself on the losing end of the melee. Gilvoth was apparently quite pleased with himself.

While I agree that someone needs to rein in that trouble-making vampire, I can't help but wonder where all these Dagoths came from and why are they freely roaming the streets of New Pelagiad.

After recording the latest, and admittedly entertaining, news I tend to feel that mentioning our own lives ends the day's entry on a low note. Today was not a bad day by any means, it's just more of us continuing to work toward re-establishing ourselves following our recent return to Pelagiad from Lokken.

First of all, it's easy to see that we're in a time of year where the weather swings back and forth like a pendulum. When I got up this morning and went to the barn to muck the stalls the snow was entirely gone. Nothing is blooming yet but there was a feel of the coming spring in the air.

Unfortunately by ten o'clock tonight, which is when I'm writing this entry, the snow has returned. This Ascadian winter isn't over yet.

I wasn't on the guild's schedule today, but that doesn't mean I didn't work. In fact I had two free lance assignments today. The first was to go to City Hall and teach a class on Speechcraft. Then this afternoon I was asked to go to the Magic, Lore, and Science Studies center to participate in an experiment that involved using Charm spells and Beast Tongue to persuade captive ants to dig their tunnels in a particular pattern. Admittedly I don't see the point in such an experiment, but taking part added three hundred septims to our household funds. I suspect that Aryc may have recommending me for both of these opportunities, and he is likely aware that Neldor and I are struggling as we try to make ends meet while waiting for planting season.

During the few hours that Neldor and I were both at home we talked about using some of our income to carefully invest in one of the town's businesses. Unfortunately we don't have many septims to spare so Neldor got on his Dwemer notebook and used it to connect to the town's network to see where we make our first investment with the least amount of money.

After looking over the list of businesses, we decided the first one to invest in would be the New Pelagiad Security Tower, which is where the military, law enforcement, and of course the Adventurer's Guild is located. For a mere two hundred septims we were able to invest and are now entitled to a share of the profits. Granted the share won't be very big when the investment required such a small amount, but it's a place to start and will hopefully help us save enough to make further investments.

That's really the extent of what went on today. At four in the afternoon Neldor went up to his room to get some sleep so he would be rested for tonight's shift at the guild. When he came back downstairs around seven in the evening in his new guild armor I admit I did a double-take, for he looked quite good in it. "Swashbuckler" is how I would describe his uniform, with its high leather boots, leather vest, and the wide brimmed hat that is decorated with a white egret plume. In fact I commented (and not entirely in jest), "I'm tempted to not allow you to go out. You look too good in that armor."

With an embarrassed smile, Neldor replied as we sat down at the tea table, "To be honest I feel like this hat and the stupid egret plume are nearly as big as I am. I feel silly."

I repeated, "You look good. You wear it well."

He laughed and stated, "This hat seems more like something Thorinor would wear. Or at least he would if he didn't have antlers."

For a while we chatted and sipped our tea until it was time for Neldor to head off from the guild. Once again I told him to be careful before seeing him out the door. Now it's nearly time for me to go to sleep since I have to be at the guild hall early tomorrow morning.

At least there aren't any zombies wandering around tonight.
