It's becoming painfully obvious that we don't exactly have high quality news reporting around here. The individual who is behind these reports wants to do nothing more than air everyone's dirty laundry rather than passing along information that citizens need to know. So why am I still mentioning the stories? Because they're so bizarre.
Voryn was mentioned in the news yet again, though I certainly question if any of this report is true;
Voryn Dagoth was horrified to hear that his latest attempt to burn out Sophelia LaChance's nest ended in failure, simply snuffing out an innocent Cortinas Festivas window blind. Understandably, Voryn has been in hiding ever since, probably plotting another attempt.

If Voryn did attempt to burn out a vampire's lair, I don't think he would now be feeling horrified and hiding his face in shame because he destroyed a window blind. Then there is the fact that Pelagiad was close to being completely destroyed the last time its citizens attempted to burn a vampire out of the town. Now that Pelagiad has been rebuilt and is even larger and more developed than it was before, I doubt that the town's current citizens would appreciate anyone carelessly throwing fire spells around.
That being said, there was a fire at a spooky looking house that's on the eastern side of the lake. I saw the fire wagon heading over there while I was in town this morning, so something happened, but events likely didn't play out exactly they way they are reported in the Tattler (the newspaper name says it all).
Then there was an unsavory story about two town residents who would likely have preferred to keep their personal business quiet. Or maybe they don't care.
The unsavory report:
Morgana le Hex was spotted hamming it up with another of the Kingpin's lackeys, a mer by the name of Tanor the Sleaze. The two were overheard exchanging various tips and tricks regarding how best to extract teeth and use of the thumb-screws.
We will spare our readers further details about what else went on within "Tanor's Pleasure Hut", but our sources tell us that unfortunate neighbors who live nearby have filed several complaints about the noise.

As if this was not enough, Tanor appeared in the afternoon edition of the news:
Townsfolk reported a fight between town thug Master Neloth and local mer Tanor the Sleaze. An on-looker said that there was "no obvious reason for the attack. I think Neloth was just looking to make trouble".
Resident Morgana le Hex was willing to share some insight regarding the fight: "I think I know what happened. Nelly and Tanny were fighting over me. I was afraid that something like this would happen, but Nelly needs to understand that until he puts a ring on my finger I'm a free agent!"
When asked for a response to Morgana's statement, Master Neloth reportedly snapped, "Go away!"

This fight did indeed take place. I know this because Neldor saw the whole thing. As I mentioned earlier in the entry, I went into town today because I had another offer of freelance work, this time from the bookstore. The owner remembered that I had briefly worked for Mebestian Ence and had a knack for setting up displays with the merchandise and wondered if I would be willing to come in and assist with displaying a shipment of newly published books. The job paid four hundred septims, so I accepted.
While I was at the bookstore, Neldor went to the nearby Pavilion Park and played his guitar for tips. The park was busy today so he did very well, earning a little over three hundred septims from neighbors who enjoyed the upbeat music. Anyway, while he was playing Tanor, Neloth and Gilvoth happened to come to the park at the same time.

According to Neldor, the words that were exchanged between Neloth and Tanor went like this:
"You take her!"
"No, I insist that you take her!"
"You've had her, you can keep her!"
"I've had enough of her! You take her or I'll slap the stuffing out of you!"
At this point Neloth and Tanor got into a full blown scuffle in the snow. Since magic played a part in the scuffle, Tanor really didn't have much of a chance and ended up being taken to the healing center. Gilvoth and Neloth then had a good laugh and proceeded to build this snowman in the center of the park:

And no, Neldor never stopped playing his guitar while all this was going on, so the "Nelly/Tanny Fight" had background music.
Sometimes I feel like I'm writing a real bad fiction story rather than just writing in my journal about the odd events that play out in New Pelagiad.
Anyway, that's what everyone is gossiping about at the moment. As for me, not only did I earn four hundred septims at the bookstore, the owner, who knows I play piano, gave me some free sheet music. The song is "Summer Hayrides" and when I got home I settled down at my piano to learn it. I should finish my current painting so I can take it to the consignment shop to sell, but I don't think that taking a break for a little while to enjoy some music will hurt anything. We're slowly but surely getting a handle on our finances.

Some additional information that I'm sure no one wants to know: When the notice came up about Tanor and Morgana and I had moved the camera over to Tanor's house, the two characters were already undressed and had obviously just done the deed. I had to use NRaas Master Controller to put their clothes back on them before setting up their poses for the screenshot because I doubt anyone wants to see those two naked (especially since I use a mod to make everyone anatomically correct).

Morgana is full of herself, as always.

Date: 2025-03-18 03:37 am (UTC)From:Something that made my skin crawl the other day was when I was taking the screenshots of Aeronwen and Acacia at the tea house.Tanor came into the room, saw the sisters, and began alternating between pictures of Acacia and Aeronwen in his thought bubble. I almost expected him to walk over to their table and say, "I'm feelin' really into sisters right now."
I can see that Tanor is going to be getting a beating from Darkfell and Neldor at some point in the future. :)

Darkfell would knock a knot on Tanor's head.
LOL Yep. Both Darkfell and Neldor are more than capable of giving him a good thrashing, and if they both got a hold of him at once, Tanor would end up as nothing more than a grease spot on the pavement.

Darkfell: "All right, s'wit, now I'll hold you down while my Bosmer friend practices his archery skills. What? You're crying about your face being broken? Maybe it should have been pointed elsewhere away from our wives."

I'm not even which one Aeronwen would pick. LOL

Date: 2025-03-19 01:01 am (UTC)From:While looking for pose packs for wedding scenes I came across this one: Wedding Bell Blues. There's a set in there that I simply have to use for Brolmir and Vendyne. It's the one where the groom appears to be trying to crawl away and the bride is dragging him by his feet.
