The usual town troublemakers have been at it again, but now when they are caught by law enforcement they no longer have to walk along the road with their hands cuffed behind their backs. Before I get into that I wanted to mention that my father appeared in this morning's news;
Hllaalu Helseth has been feeling weak in the knees and in the bladder whenever the Feral is nearby. "It is all consuming. We just can't help ourselves, and we don't know why. We should be scared out of our wits, but instead...we just want more."

So...the former king was roughed up by Godonir, and believed that he liked it because he was under the influence of the werewolf's manipulative howl. Do I find this funny? Yes. Absolutely yes. For quite a while I was unable to stop laughing. As far as I know, this was the first time in my father's life that he was batted around by anyone. The fact that he was rendered passive and went along with it is icing on the cake.
When I was chatting with my sister about this, she stated, "Darkfell commented that at times like this he wishes he could like Godonir, especially since, as he put it, our father was long overdue for a beating."
Although Helseth was fine with being roughed up while under the influence of Godonir's howl, the former king was apparently furious about the whole thing once the howl's power had worn off. While taking Garland around the obstacle course at the horse training grounds, Neldor saw Helseth near the public privies. With a dark scowl on his face, my father was cursing and stomping on snow angels. I know my father as well as anyone can, and I imagine that he is both angry and humiliated, for not only did Godonir rough him up, the whole town knows about it.

In other news, Master Neloth was also out and about looking for someone to rough up. For some unknown reason he chose one of our local Spinners;
Celinar Oakgrove found himself in the midst of a brawl earlier today after being attacked by a member of the local thuggery. After smashing Celinar's face into the snow and kicking him in the back, Master Neloth simply laughed and walked away.

When the head of Pelagiad's town council, Aryc of Silvervale, was asked for his thoughts about Master Neloth's latest stunt, Aryc had this to say, "I'm sick of our town's law abiding citizens being attacked! To put it plainly, I want to whoop some scum! Bring it on!"

Neloth had to have somehow caught Celinar off-guard. The Spinner may seem quiet, and a bit absent-minded, but in truth he, like Sifina, is as tough as nails. With nature on their side, Spinners can seriously mangle anyone who attacks them. Actually, considering what happened afterward, I think Neloth would have preferred to have Celinar retaliate. It would have been less humiliating for him.
With the season's weather being so cold and causing the roads to be slippery in areas, it has been decided that prisoners no longer have to be walked to the prison. Instead they can ride in the back of one of Pelagiad's new paddy wagons.
Anaril, who is quite pleased with the new wagons, told the newspaper reporter, "We'll make sure to keep the cage bars polished to a high shine so that thugs like Master Neloth can be driven over to the jail in style.
Darkfell had the task of collecting Neloth once the crime against Celinar had been reported. With an ever so slight smirk on his face, he used the reins to carefully guide the cart's horse through town, making a point to take the "scenic route" so everyone could get a look at the prisoner who was locked inside the back of the wagon.

Neloth was...less than impressed...with this new mode of transportation, likely because the local children (and some adults) were able to throw snowballs at him as the paddy wagon went by. He could be heard yelling, "You s'wits won't get away with this! I'm a Mage Lord and Councilor of Great House Telvanni!"

He continued to rant even after the wagon reached the prison and he was escorted to his usual cell. By the time I'm writing this entry Gilvoth has likely bailed Neloth out, but the humiliation of the ride through town won't be forgotten anytime soon.
As a citizen of New Pelagiad, I would say that the paddy wagons were tax money well spent.

*Later that night, after eating the surprisingly decent meal provided him by his jailers, Neloth lies awake on the hard narrow jail bunk staring at the ceiling with eyes wide open as he sees visions of Naked Neloth artifacts from Pervert World. He trembles and shakes, trying to scratch all the itchiness besetting his body.*
