Acacia and I are beginning to wonder if our father really has partially lost his mind. That and if he is trying to compete with Tanor the Sleaze of all people. Lately he has been giving the reporters at the Tattler plenty of news to broadcast over the airwaves. We had already heard that Helseth had begun having an affair with Morgana le Hex as well as with Usanda Moon Leaf, but this morning it was reported that my father has also been carrying on with meek little Nona, the Bosmer who moved here from Tel Mora after giving birth to a son.

What in the world is Nona thinking? Wait, scratch that. I don't mean to sound cruel, but Nona doesn't seem to be much for thinking at all. After managing to leave a town where males, even male children, are outlawed, she now gets involved with a ruthless mer who will never ever really care about her.

A short time after the Tattler broadcasted that Nona had been seen leaving my father's home in Pelagiad, the reporters sent out this nugget of gossip;

Helseth Hlaalu is the center of Yanna Swift Leaf's world, at least for the moment, with the former king receiving quite a lot of attention from the local Harpy. However, unlike the usual state of affairs, Yanna appears to be enamored with fallen monarch.

So much for Yanna's devotion to Godonir. She is probably hoping that Helseth will some day be restored to power and will choose Yanna to be his Queen. Acacia and I shared a giggle over that thought. There isn't a chance in Oblivion that Yanna would ever be more than just another of Helseth's mistresses.

While we were discussing Yanna's involvement with the former king, Acacia mentioned, "We should keep an eye on Yanna's network journal. I wouldn't be surprised if she posts an entry about how someday she's going to be a Queen and our step-mother."

With a nod of agreement, I replied, "She'll go on and on about how she'll be able to push us around and we won't be able to do a thing about it."

We chatted a while longer with Acacia asking how I'm doing during these final weeks of my pregnacy. I told her that I'm doing well, but I'm eager to no longer feel so big and bulky, even though once the twins arrive that will be when the real child-care work begins.

Following the conversation over our communicators, I took some time to relax in my rocking chair, occasionally dozing while looking out the window and watching the horses and cows in the paddock. Clever Prank had a show at Fiddler's Green this afternoon, and although I would have been welcome to go there to watch, in truth I was glad to stay home and enjoy the quiet. I've been getting tired more often lately, and it felt good to just get off my feet and remain still.

Before the afternoon was over, the town had something else to talk about; Vallisara went into labor and gave birth to a striking little boy, whom has been named Kalanar. Based on what I've heard, Vallisara and Anaril are still feeling a little awkward about their rushed marriage, but are making the best of it for the sake of their baby. I hate to sound like a gossip, but it's said that their relationship came about after an evening when they had sat down with a bottle (or two) of gold-berry wine and commisserated over their dislike for my Aunt Morgiah (Summerset's "Black Queen"). Consuming so much wine caused them to do things that they might not have normally done and, well...that's why little Kalanar is now a member of our community.

Needless to say, Gilvoth and Neloth were complaining about this during their Words of Wisdom broadcast. When I tuned in out of morbid curiosity, Gilvoth was ranting, "I know what's going to happen! The goldenrod knight's male spawn in going to breed with Silvervale's female spawn!"

Neloth agreed heatedly, "Yes! And that will lead to yet another generation of goldenrods! Blast them! They'll end up covering all of Vvardenfell with gangly goldenrod children!"

Everyone knows those two like to complain, but going on about innocent children is low even for them. It won't surprise me a bit of Aryc and Anaril come by to have some strong words with the grouches. Surely Gilvoth and Neloth have other things they can complain about without speculating what a couple of Altmer infants may or may not do when they grow up.

I suppose they'll be going on about my twins once they arrive; the town will hear about "Valenwood wood rats" taking over the Ascadian Isles. That will likely be a good time to keep our radio off, for I don't think Neldor or I will be able to listen to that without going over to the grouch house and punching those dried up old crabs in the mouth.

Well, with Vallisara giving birth, there are no other expectant mothers in line ahead of me. It's my turn. Am I nervous? Yes, but I know all will be well. I'm strong and healthy. I'm certain everything will go well. The nursery is entirely ready for its pair of tiny occupants. All that's left to do at this point is...wait for the due date.

""But what really concerns me is if they have babies- our siblings. I can't think of worse parents. We really do need to keep an eye on them!"

*thoughtful* "Perhaps Sifina and Ashara will come up with a means to sterilize the both of them," She suggested.

*TO Vallisara as Amaryllis brings over baby blankets and gifts to Vallisara, "What miserable old grouches! I hope all of us Altmer and Bosmer have plenty of children to annoy them no end! Just ignore them."

"Aryc will be having a word or a dozen with the two fools. Certainly with Anaril's and Darkfell's backup. Children are off limits for their bizarre ramblings," Amaryllis, reassuring. "Aryc and I will not have our children growing up with those gasbags insulting and intimidating them."
